The Principles of Permaculture are deeply rooted in local communities. We view their involvement  as essential to the long term sustainability of any project and focus on nurturing a sense of ownership right from the beginning, through various trainings, the creation and support of social businesses and the education of environmental health practices.

From creating the first specific production tree nursery in the Gambella region (Ethiopia) to multiple agro-ecological projects across Kenya, our aim is to transfer the necessary knowledge and skills to individuals who show initiative and a willingness to learn. Over time it is these 'champions' who we will continue to support to become the next generation of trainers and mentors.

Above most things, we believe that it is the everyday people on the ground who will continue to push the cause and create the myriad of small scale changes that will slowly but surely add to the rapidly developing momentum Permaculture is gathering worldwide.
